How can I change my company's posting method?

Resolution
  1. Go to Maintain, Company Information.
  2. In the Maintain Company Information window, click the arrow next to Posting Method:.
  3. In the Posting Method window, select the posting method you want to use.
    • Real-Time Posting: Transactions post to the general ledger when clicking the Save button. Most companies use this method
    • Batch Posting: Transactions are saved and posted in a group when the Save button is selected after they’re entered. When you use batch posting, you can print registers and check the batch of transactions before posting them
    • SmartPosting (Quantum Only): Transactions are saved and then automatically posted by the SmartPosting service. The service regularly cycles through the database looking for transactions to post. You don’t have to actively post the transactions since the service does it for you. We recommend this method for better performance with ten or more users working simultaneously
  4. Click OK in the Posting Method window.
  5. Click OK in the Maintain Company Information window.
Notes:

 

  • This changes the posting method for the current company only. If you have multiple companies, you will need to change the posting method in each one
  • If you are on a network, this change only needs to occur on one computer
  • All users must be logged out for this process, as it requires Single User access
