How do I install the 32-bit version of Microsoft Office?

Microsoft recently changed Microsoft 365 so that the 64-bit version of the install is the default.

Section 1: How to install the 32-bit version if you have a subscription to Microsoft 365 (should apply to Home, Business, or Enterprise editions)

  1. If you need to change from the 64-bit version of Office, you need to uninstall first. Go to Control Panel, then Programs and Features, Uninstall a Program.
  2. Find Microsoft Office in the list and click on it so that it is highlighted. Click the uninstall/change button and choose to Remove.
  3. Once the uninstall is finished, you can then open a web browser and go to https://www.office.com and log in with your Microsoft 365 credentials.
  4. On the home window, select Install Office, then Other install options.
  5. In the Version drop list, select 32-bit, then click the orange Install Office button.

Follow the instructions on the Microsoft page Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2019 on a PC or Mac.
