Caution:
- It is not recommended to disable UAC permanently in Windows 8.1, 10 and Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019.
- Once the needed task is complete, you should re-enable UAC.
Option 1: Adjust Windows UAC settings - Select Start, and in the Search field, type UAC.
- Select Change User Account Control settings.
- Move the slider bar down to Never notify and click OK.
- Click Yes to “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”
- Reboot for changes to take effect.
- Once the needed task is complete, re-enable UAC so that the use of Metro apps (touch-screen-friendly apps) continue to function.
Option 2: Disable UAC in Registry - Click the Windows Start button.
- In the Search field, type regedit and press Enter.
- Click Yes if prompted.
- Select File, Export, and then save a backup somewhere you will remember.
- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
- In the right pane, double-click EnableLUA.
- Change Value Data to 0.
- To turn on UAC, repeat these steps and change this Value Data to 1.
- Click OK.
- Close Registry Editor.
- Reboot for changes to take effect.
