After an upgrade is installed the Sage 50 software might need to convert your data. If the first time your data is opened, after the upgrade, it opens like normal then a data conversion was not needed. Otherwise, the Data Conversion Wizard will automatically start, see the steps below:

1. Open Sage 50.
2. Click Open an existing company, select your company and click OK.
   • Note: If your data is not on this computer, restore a backup as a New Company following How to restore a backup
3. The Data Conversion Wizard – Introduction window will appear; click Next.
4. Confirm the company to convert, and click Next.
5. In the Back Up Existing Company Information window, click the Back Up button and then click Save.
6. Once you have saved your back up, click the Next button.
7. Data conversion will start and may take a while depending on the size of your data. Do not interrupt the data conversion.
8. Once the conversion is complete, the Conversion Completed window will appear; click Finish.
