1. Create a new backup and give it a unique file name.  Don't overwrite a previous backup.
2. Change to accounting period 1 in the company.
3. Open the Integrity Check by selecting Help, Support Utilities, and then Integrity Check.
   • If you have Peachtree 2012 or earlier, follow the steps to access the Integrity Check in prior versions
4. Select Help, Support Utilities, and select Integrity Check.
5. Click Continue only if you have successfully created a backup; otherwise click Backup.
6. In the File Tests box, select Reindex Files, and select Chart on the Reindex File List.
7. Click OK, open Integrity Check again, and then click Continue.
8. In the File Tests box, select Reindex Files, and select Line Item on the Reindex File List.
9. Click OK, open Integrity Check again, and then click Continue.
10. In the File Tests box, select Reindex Files, and select Jrnl Header on the Reindex File List.
11. Click OK, open Integrity Check again, and then click Continue.
12. In the File Tests box, select Reindex Files, and select Jrnl Rows on the Reindex File List.
13. Click OK, open Integrity Check again, and then click Continue.
14. Select the box titled Inventory / Journal in the Data Synchronization Tests box.
15. Click OK.

 NOTE: The Inventory / Journal Synchronization test performs many of the other integrity tests and unposts or posts journals. Depending on the size of the company data, this test can take several hours. To run the test unattended, clear the Pause when error detected checkbox.
