NOTE: Always restart Actian on the server or machine that hosts the Sage 50 data, then restart it on the client computers.

  1. Close Sage 50 on all computers.
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager.
  3. Select the Details tab and look for zenengsvc32.exe (or zenengnapp.exe if Actian is running as an application rather than a service).
    • For release 2022 and earlier, look for w3dbsmgr.exe instead
  4. Select that process and click End task at the bottom. Select End Process at the prompt.
  5. Select the Services tab at the top. Click the Name column to sort by name and look for the service called zenengine.
    • For release 2022 and earlier, look for the service psqlWGE instead
  6. Right-click the service and select Start.

Actian Zen should now be restarted.

NOTE: If the service doesn't start, it may be disabled in the Services console.

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open a Run line.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. In the Services window, right-click Actian Zen Workgroup Engine and select Start or Restart.
