| | Use the Data File Display and Maintenance (DFDM) utility in Premium |
| Description | - When accessing files like GL_DailyPosting.M4T, you’ll see a message about encrypted or read-only columns.
- The utility provides options to allow editing of read-only fields and to display only key fields.
CAUTION: Only use DFDM to repair records corrupted by hardware or software errors. |
| Resolution | Accessing DFDM in Premium - In Sage 100 Premium, you can access files stored in a SQL database.
- To select a file, enter the company code, a colon, and the file name (for example, ABC:AR_Customer).
Editing and Viewing Options - For modules upgraded to Business Framework, all fields and values show in a grid.
- You can't edit encrypted fields.
- To edit read-only fields, check Allow Read-Only Fields to Be Changed.
- To display only key fields, check Show Fields Used in All Keys.
Key Scan and Filtering - For multi-segment keys, use the key scan filter to search by one or more segments.
- Example: For customer number 02-CAPRI, enter: CAPRI or use a different separator (for example, ~CAPRI).
- You can filter by multiple segments.
For example, 2026:AP for GL_DailyPosting records from 2026 with AP as the source journal. Other Features - Add records in modules upgraded to Business Framework.
- The system retains window width and column sizes between scans.
- Use special characters in the Search field:
- (asterisk): Search for text anywhere in the key (for example, *14072).
- % (percent): Search for text in the key and data record (for example, %14072).
- The system removes the Print button.
Running DFDM - Start DFDM from the Run Program window (File, Run) by entering SY_FileDisplay_UI.
