 NOTE: Sage support doesn’t assist with creating or configuring networks. If you need assistance setting up a network, consult your IT professional or Microsoft support for assistance. 

• You must have a multi-user license to use Sage on a network or with multiple locations
• Sage isn’t compatible with online storage solutions such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft One Drive; using these services as a data location carries a high risk of data corruption
• Sage isn’t compatible with wide area networks (WANs)
• We don't recommend using Sage 50 over a wireless network

Transfer backups

• Make a backup at one location, and transfer it (using email, file-sharing services, or removable media) to the other location. Then restore the backup
• This method doesn’t allow simultaneous use, as the transactions entered at one location will be overwritten when the backup from the other location is restored

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

• Sage can work on VPNs; however, using Sage on a VPN isn’t recommended due to potential performance issues
• Sage is unable to provide support for VPN setup or troubleshooting
• Third-party add-ons may not function in a VPN environment

Remote Desktop solutions

• Sage will work with remote desktop solutions such as GoToMyPC, Log Me In, TeamViewer, or Windows Remote Desktop Services (formerly Terminal Services)
• Sage doesn’t provide support for setting up or maintaining remote desktop solutions
• Some third-party add-ons may not function when using remote access
• If using a remote desktop solution to run Sage, Sage doesn’t need to be installed on the remote computer, only on the in-office computer

Sage 50 Cloud

Sage 50 Cloud is a service provided by Sage that allows you to enjoy the flexibility of accessing your accounting software from anywhere. 

Virtual environments

 NOTE: Although Sage has no written documentation endorsing the use of virtual machines, virtual machines in general should work with Sage products. However, Sage doesn’t troubleshoot VM issues if the issue is determined to be with the VM itself. 

• It isn’t recommended to operate Sage 50 Accounting in either one of the virtualization solutions available. For example: Parallels Desktop for Mac, VMWare Fusion. You may notice a significant decrease in performance and there’s a greater potential for data loss or corruption.
• Sage 50 can run on Parallels in a virtual environment. However, Sage doesn’t support the setup, configuration, or troubleshooting of Windows Parallels on a Mac OS.
