To update attachment links when moving to a new server - Connect to Database Administration with SQL Server Administrator rights.
- Select Toolbox and Company Tools.
- Select the company from the picklist on the right.
- Choose the radio button for Assign new server name in file paths for linked file attachments:
- In the Old server name box, enter the name of the old server.
- In the New server name, enter the new name or IP address of the new server.
- Click Update File Paths.
- Verify the new path for the attachments is correct.
More information This process updates the server name at the beginning of the path, not the entire file path. For example, if the file path is Oldserver\Accounting\ARInvoices\invoiceXYZ.pdf, you must move the entire Accounting folder when switching to a new server.
