Enable hidden files: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files

Section 1: For Release 2019 and higher

  1. Press the Windows key+R to open a Run line.
  2. Type C:\ProgramData\Sage\Peachtree and press Enter.
  3. Open the PeachtreeXXX.ini file (where XXX is the latest release number).
  4. Update the DATAPATH= to the desired directory path.
  5. Select File, Save, and close the INI file.

If you are using 2021 or higher version of Sage 50 US edition you can also try the following:

  • Instead of updating the DATAPATH= to the new mapped directory you can enter a UNC path
  • e.g., DATAPATH=Z:\company\ could be \\SERVERNAME\peachtree\company\
(if SERVERNAME was the name of the server with a network share name of peachtree)

Section 2: 64-bit machines (for Releases 2018 and prior)

  1. Open C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Peach and open PeachtreeXXX.ini.
  2. Update the DATAPATH= to the desired directory path.
  3. Select File, Save, and close the INI file.

Section 3: 32-bit machines (for Releases 2018 and prior)

  1. Open folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Peach and open PeachtreeXXX.ini.
  2. Update the DATAPATH= to the desired directory path.
  3. Select File, Save, and close the INI file.
