Error: "Unable to continue. The designated license server does not have any activated product licenses"
Description
Cause

The computer name or IP address of your license server has changed.

The user is entering "127.0.0.1" or "localhost" in the License Administration module, on a machine that isn't the license server.

Resolution

This happens when the license server isn't selected during installation. Follow these steps to resolve it.

To select the license server during installation

  1. Launch Sage 100 Contractor after installation.
  2. Select Find the server on the list, or manually enter the IP address or computer name.
  3. If selecting from a list, locate the license server, select it, and click OK.
  4. Alternatively, type the license server's computer name or IP address.
  5. On the license server itself, enter 127.0.0.1 or localhost.
  6. Click OK.
  7. If the license server is valid, a confirmation screen appears. Click OK.
  8. Click Open Company and log in to the company.

To change the license server after installation

If you need to change the license server later, follow these steps:

  1. Open Sage 100 Contractor.
  2. When the Company List screen opens, click Cancel.
  3. Click the gray X inside the Connect SQL Server box.
  4. Click the X until it turns red, then click it.
  5. In the lower right-hand corner, click Change License Server.
  6. Select Find the server on the list, or manually enter the IP address or computer name.
  7. If selecting from a list, locate the license server, select it, and click OK.
  8. Alternatively, type the license server's computer name or IP address.
  9. If you're on the license server, enter 127.0.0.1 or localhost.
  10. Click OK.
  11. If the license server is valid, a confirmation screen appears. Click OK.
  12. Click Open Company in the top left or bottom-right corner to log into your company.
  13. If using the SQL version, connect to the SQL server, then choose your company.
