Methods for performing record searches

  1. Display the Picklist window:
    1. From the grid cell of a column that supports Picklist functionality, for example, Part# or Assembly#, right-click a cell, and then click Display Picklist Window
    2. A window related to that column opens with Picklist functionality, indicated by the check mark button.
  2. Press F5 or F8 in any field in the record header area or the grid row cell of a column that supports Picklist functionality.
    1. F5 displays data for a selected field in a Lookup window or Quick List
    2. F8 displays a Picklist window from a grid cell of a column that supports Picklist functionality, for example, the Part# column.
  3. Press F9 to retrieve the first matching record for a selected search item from an indexed field (with a yellow bar) and enable the use of the Scroll Down bar to move through records.  EXAMPLE: If the invoice number of a 4-2 Payable Invoice/Credit is known, open 4-2 Payable Invoices/Credits, enter the invoice number in the Invoice # field of the blank record, and press F9.  The Payable Invoice/Credit record assigned that invoice number will be displayed.

CAUTION:  If you press F8 on a criteria item that displays a Picklist check mark, such as in the 5-2-3 Compute Payroll window, no Picklist window is displayed.  The F5 key, however, will display the Picklist window.
