| Cause | - Using a standard check form or customized version of the standard check form and entering in the check number before selecting the print button
- Printing a check that has already been printed or had a check number assigned

| Resolution | Don't put a check number on the entry screen (preferred) - On the entry screen, leave the Check Number field blank.
- Click Print.
- Enter the check number for check in the field First check number.
- Click Print Preview.
- Verify Duplicate no longer displays on check.
When printing checks this way, the system will remember the last check printed and increment it by one the next time you print a check. Use a customized form with the duplicate warning field removed - Customize the form. See How to remove the word duplicate with a custom check or invoice.
- Click Print.
- Click Select Form.
- Select your custom form.
- Click Print Preview.
- Verify Duplicate no longer displays on the check.
