| I cannot see my company in the list when attempting to copy settings from an existing Sage 50 company using the new company setup wizard |
Cause | - Database folder exists outside the data path
- The existing company is a different type of company than the new company. (For example, the existing company is a Premium company while the new company is a Pro company)
- Existing company is not in the same version as the new company (For example, the existing company is in version 2014 while the new company is in version 2015)
- The company data folders are in a different folder than the data path listed in the ini

Resolution | Option I: Backup and Restore to the correct path - Open the company that you would like to copy settings from.
- Add OLD in front of the Company Name field in Maintain, Company Information.
- Click OK to confirm the changes.
- Create a backup.
- Once the backup is complete, close your company.
- Click on File and choose Restore.
- Restore the backup you just created in step 2 choosing the New Company option on the restore wizard screen.
- Once it is restored and the company is open, go to Maintain, Company Information.
- In the Company Name field, delete the OLD in front of the name.
- Click OK to confirm the changes.
- Verify that you can now copy settings from this company using the new company set up wizard.
Option II: Incorrect company type is selected - From the main screen click Help and then About Sage 50
- Verify the Release line
- Open the Company you want to copy the settings from
- At the top of the window where it displays your company name in parenthesis it will tell you which product of Sage 50 your company was created in
- Go to File and select New Company
- Click Next.
- At the Choose a Sage 50 Product option, select the version you verified in step 4.
- Click Next
- Fill out the Company Information and click Next.
- Select Copy settings from an existing Sage 50 Accounting company and click Next.
- Verify the desired company displays in the list.
Option III: Convert the company to the current release - Open the existing company and follow the steps when the conversion window opens.
- Create the new company and verify the desired company appears in the list to copy settings from.
Option IV: Copy the company to ini location - Copy the company data folder and paste it into the same folder as listed in the ini.
- Verify the company is now listed under available companies.
