1. Open the Start menu.
2. Type Notepad in the Search box.
3. Right-click on it from the list.
4. Select Run as Administrator (or right-click to select Run as... and then choose Administrator).
5. Select File, Open.
6. Change the file type, on the bottom right, from Text documents (*.txt) to All files (*.*)
7. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc.
8. Open the hosts file.
9. Add the following line at the end of the file, on its own line. Ignore all the lines with the # sign at the beginning.
   • 127.0.0.1 localhost
   • This should be the only line without the # sign
   • Contact your IT Technician if the file is excessively long
     
10. Click on File and Save.

Unable to save changes to Hosts file
