  • Enter the user name and password of the Administrator of the computer the drive is mapped to and trying to access
    Note: You will need to complete these steps each time you reboot.
  • To disable the password protection, follow the steps below:
  1. Select Start, Control Panel, Network and Sharing Center.
  2. Click Change advanced sharing settings.
  3. Select Turn off password protected sharing.
  4. Verify that you can browse to the server without being prompted for a password.
  5. If you are still being prompted for a password, consult a Network Administrator or IT professional.

Note: In some cases even after you turn off the password protected sharing, you are still prompted for a user name and password. Try typing Guest for the user name and leave the password blank to get past the log in box. If this does not work, you must consult your Administrator or IT professional.
