Only one user can log into a database at one time
Description

Cause
Some clients may be using the UNC path (\\SERVER\SHARE\SFAServ) while others are using the Local Server path (C:\SFAServ).
Resolution
Copy the configuration setting values from registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432node\Best Software\NWBESTSYS\LOGICALNAME for the correct path from working client workstation to the non-working client workstation.

Note: The BESTSYS.DB is a configuration control database that Sage Fixed Asset client initially seeks in order to connect to the Sybase service on the server.

  1. On the workstation that has a working Sage Fixed Assets - Network Depreciation, Go to: Start, Type into the search box REGEDIT, Press Enter.
  2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432node\Best Software\NWBESTSYS\
  3. Write down the Data values for the following keys: ENGINENAME, LOGICALNAME, PARAMETERS, and PROTOCOL.
  4. Go to the non-working system repeat Step 1 and Step 2 from above.
  5. Compare the Data values for the four keys: ENGINENAME, LOGICALNAME, PARAMETERS, and PROTOCOL. If any of the keys differ from the working computer, double click on the key to get the Edit String window and change the value to match the working computer.
Note: Ensure all clients are pointing to the same path to the BESTSYS.DB using the drive letter pathing.
    Example:
Drive Letter path: C:\SFAServ\BESTSYS.DB (use the drive letter the program was installed to on the server level)
  6. Close the registry editor, Launch the Sage Fixed Assets - Network Depreciation.
