Modifications to the prior-year payroll accounting may have an impact on the 941 quarterly reporting and necessitate an amended 941. It is advisable to seek guidance from a qualified accountant or local tax professional before proceeding with any alterations to prior-year payroll records.

1. Open the archive company file with Administrator rights and Payroll Administrator rights (if using that feature).
2. Open 5-3-7 Payroll Audit.  Click Repair
3. Follow the steps from How do I correct Social Security or Medicare payroll audit errors
4. Open 5-2-6 Post Payroll to GL, post the hand-computed check.
5. Open 1-3 Journal Transactions and locate the journal transaction for the hand-computed check.
6. From the menu, click File, Print
7. Open the current company file.
8. Open 1-3 Journal Transactions and enter the journal transaction printed from the payroll archive company. From the menu, click Edit, Period.  Post this journal transaction to the same posting period as in the payroll archive.
