Note: Lite Depreciation editions do not have the ability to perform partial transactions.

In Sage Fixed Assets:

  1. From the Asset Detail view of the asset, go to Asset, Dispose.
  2. In the Asset Disposal dialog: Enter the Disposal Date, press Tab, select the Disposal Method.
  3. Select Yes in the Partial Disposal? field. When tabbing out of the field the Partial Disposal dialog box will appear.
  4. Enter the Partial Disposal Amount
    1. Optional: Select the Book.
    2. Optional: Enter a Disposal Description.
    3. Click OK to return to the Disposal page.
Note: The Partial Disposal field is now set to Yes. If there is a need to Edit the Partial Disposal dialog box, go back to the Partial Disposal? field, select the Edit option.
Note: You cannot partially dispose only one book. Since you can have different Acquisition values in each book, you may need to select a book other than Tax. All books will be reduced by the same Percentage: (Partial Disposal amount/Acquired Value (Selected Book)).
  5. Complete any needed additional fields of the Disposal dialog.
  6. Click Calculate.
    • The system calculates depreciation for the disposed asset and displays the new figures in the appropriate fields for review before saving the disposal
  7. Click Save to perform the transaction.

Note: You can override the gain/loss amount prior to saving the transaction if desired. The YTD and accum numbers displayed are for the disposed portion only.
