Error: Unable to directly void the ledger transaction for this payroll record. A reversing transaction will need to be posted.
Description
Cause
You are trying to void a 5-2-2 Payroll Record, but because the payroll was Posted in Summary you receive the following message: "Unable to directly void the ledger transaction for this payroll record. A reversing transaction will need to be posted."
Resolution
  1. Click OK.
  2. A message appears that states, "Payroll record and cost records voided. Reminder: To reverse from GL, re-post this entry to general ledger in option 5-2-6 "Post Payroll to GL."
  3. Click OK.
  4. Open the 5-2-2 Payroll Record and verify that it is in Reverse status.
  5. To void the transaction completely:
    1. Open 5-2-6 Post Payroll to GL.
    2. Enter the Checking Acct.
    3. Enter the Record#.
    4. Click Post.
      Note: Do not Post in Summary.
    5. Click Yes to the message that states, "Reminder: [#] record(s) will be posted. Posting period: [#]. Do you want to continue?"
    6. Click OK to the message that states, "[#] record(s) posted."





The 5-2-2 Payroll Record is now in Status 5-Void.
