Error: "The Sage BusinessWorks installation originally performed by user xxx on this workstation is version yyy."
Description
Cause

This error indicates that the Windows user you are currently logged in as and using to perform the upgrade is different than the Windows ID that performed the original installation.

Resolution
  • If possible, log on as the user name referenced in the error to perform the installation
  • If the original user ID cannot be used, and the error appears on the server, restart the installation using the "/noprofile" switch:
      1. Click Start, click Run or in the search bar type Run, Browse and Browse to C:\Sage BusinessWorks 20xx Install Files\Sage BusinessWorks
      2. Select Setup.exe and hit OK.. This should return to Start, Run with the full path to Setup.exe displayed.
      3. Add a space then /noprofile to the end of the command after the last ". The path should resemble the following: "C:\Sage BusinessWorks 20xx Install Files\Sage BusinessWorks\setup.exe" /noprofile
  • If the original user ID cannot be used, and the error occurred on the workstation, restart the installation using the following steps:
    1. Click Start, and then click Run or in the search bar type Run.
    2. Browse to the Sage BusinessWorks server, and select the following:
      • ..\BWProg\Client Setup\Sage BusinessWorks\Setup.exe
    3. In the Run field, add /noprofile to the end of the command. The path should resemble the following:
      • "\\[server name]\Sage\BWProg\Client Setup\Sage BusinessWorks\setup.exe" /noprofile
    4. Click OK to start the installation.

 NOTE: If the message "Installation original performed by..." appears when running /noprofile it is likely because the incorrect install file is selected. Please check the install path in the Run field and ensure that the setup.exe file is selected and NOT the autorun.exe file;
