How do I update a total on a Financial Statement design?

Resolution
  1. In Financial Statement Designer, from the File menu, select Open.
  2. Select the design where the total needs to be added or changed. Click Open.
  3. Select the blue nines on the total line that needs to be changed and see if the nines above change to ++++ or ----- or remain as 9999.
    • If 9999 display, that instruction line is not included in the total.
    • If ++++ display, that instruction line is being added to the total.
    • If ------ display, that instruction line is being subtracted from the total.
  4. From the Design menu, select Assign Total.
    Note: Verify that a new toolbar now appears below the print, open and save icons: +, -, % and Close and the mouse pointer is now a crosshair. If the toolbar does not display, refer to Assign Totals toolbar does not display properly in Financial Statement Designer
  5. Click + or - on the totals toolbar as appropriate.
  6. Select the cells that need to be add or subtract to the total. When you select the cells that you want to add to the total, notice they change from 9999 to plus or minus signs as appropriate.
  7. Click Close on the totals toolbar beneath your menu bar.
  8. From the File menu, select Save.
