New installation

In a standard client/server environment, install Sage 100 Contractor on a single server and activate the server's license. Each workstation acquires a license upon connection.

Important: If the client ID and registration name don't exactly match those provided by Sage, license activation fails.

Steps to activate the license:

  1. Open License Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
  2. Click Edit Registration Information.
  3. In the Sage client ID box, type your client ID exactly as provided by Sage.
  4. In the Registration name box, type the exact name provided by Sage.
  5. Click OK.

For example, if you own five license uses, they're assigned to the first five workstations to connect.

Activating licenses on multiple servers

If Sage 100 Contractor resides on multiple servers, such as in different corporate offices, you can distribute the available license uses across them. Each server only assigns the license uses allocated to it.

Important: If the client ID and registration name don't exactly match those provided by Sage, license activation fails.

Steps to allocate licenses across multiple servers:

  1. Open License Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
  2. In the Sage client ID box, type your client ID exactly as provided by Sage.
  3. In the Registration name box, type the exact name provided by Sage.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Multi-server licensing.
  6. Select the radio button labeled Manually specify license allocations for this server.
  7. On the Core row, enter the server uses for each module in the Uses section.
  8. The program allocates core licenses only between multiple servers.
  9. Enter a number only in the row labeled Core. Don't enter numbers in other rows.
  10. Click OK to allocate the licenses.

License uses distributions in the multiple-server scenario

If your license includes 10 uses, allocate five to each server. The program allows the first five workstations to connect to Server1. A sixth workstation can connect to Server2.
