Set up and troubleshoot user security and user access
Description
  • The Sage BusinessWorks security settings are separate from the required Windows permissions
  • Set access by task and company
  • There's no default Read-Only profile
  • Removing access doesn’t remove the company from the user’s list
Cause
Resolution

To create user records

  1. Log in as the MANAGER.
  2. From the Launcher select Utilities, Maintain Users.
  3. To add a new user, click New and enter the User ID.
  4. Select Save.
  5. You'll see a prompt to select the Default Security Access.
    • Select YES to grant the user access to all tasks in all companies
    • Select NO to turn off the user access to all tasks in all companies
  6. Click Security Settings to assign rights to specific tasks. 
  7. Use the lookup for Company ID to select the company you wish to set security.
  8. Carefully review the selections, and clear all check boxes that aren’t appropriate for the user ID.

Use Copy User Security feature 

Save time by copying security settings for users with similar access.

  1. Define security settings for one user.
  2. Select the Copy From button at the Maintain User Security window.
  3. Copy the settings for new users as they’re created.
