| How to re-open or post to a prior period |
Description | For subsidiary modules such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Launch General Ledger, Maintenance, GL Setup, Set Up Fiscal Calendar. Verify the correction period is open.
- Open the period in the respective module. For example, Accounts Payable, Maintenance, AP Setup, Set Up AP Options. On the Main tab, select the Fiscal Period for the Current AP Period and Current AP Year to be reopened.
- Run the 'Recalculate History' process if any reports are not reflecting the correct information. Go to AP, Activities, AP Utilities, AP Recalculate History. Recalculate the entire available history. Once you complete posting your entries to the reopened period, you must close the period again using the 'Process Period End' task.
- Set the Current AP Period and Current AP Year values to current.

Resolution | [BCB:5:Third-party support:ECB]
- Launch General Ledger, Maintenance, GL Setup, Set Up Fiscal Calendar.
- Select the fiscal year. Change the accounting period Status from Closed to Open
- Enter the transactions in the required period.
- Use Process Period End to re-generate all reports normally produced at the end of the accounting period. This will provide an replacement for the original reports.
- Return to the Set Up Fiscal Calendar and re-close the period in Process Period End. When this process is run, the oldest, open, fiscal period is closed. Because of this, each subsequent period will need to be re-closed until reaching the current, open period.
Note: You can also apply the above method for posting to accounting periods in a previous, fiscal year. Re-close the year with Process Period End after making the adjustments
The system uses the Current Fiscal Year and Current Fiscal Period fields in Set Up GL Options to determine the default batch posting period. After completing the correction process outlined above, modify these fields to current values to ensure future postings default to the proper period.
