Resolution

Port number in error is from 49152-65535

  1. In the Windows search type Administrative Tools and select from the search results.
  2. Open Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
  3. Click Inbound Rules in the left pane.
  4. Right-click and choose New Rule.
  5. Pick Program and click Next.
  6. Choose "This program path:" and browse to the correct pvxwin file.
    For example, \mas90\home\pvxwin64.exe for 64-bit installations of Sage 100.
  7. Keep clicking Next until you reach the name and description screen.
  8. Type a name for the Inbound Rule.
  9. Click Finish.

If using Client/Server ODBC Driver in Sage 100 Advanced

  1. In the left pane of the console, select Inbound Rules.
  2. Right-click select New Rule.
  3. Select Program and click Next.
  4. Select "This program path:" and browse to \..\mas90\Home\pvxiosvr.exe.
    For example, C:\Sage\MAS90\Home\Pvxiosvr.exe) on server.
  5. Select Next until you get to 'Specify the name and Description of this Rule" screen.
  6. Enter the name for Inbound Rule.
  7. Select Finish.

Remove corruption from the Sage 100 service

Uninstall the Sage 100 ERP Service

  1. From the Windows desktop, click Start, Programs, Sage Software, Uninstall Application Server Service.
  2. In the Service field, choose the service, then pick its port.
  3. Click Remove.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.

Reinstall the Sage 100 ERP Service

  1. From the Windows desktop, click Start, Programs, Sage Software, Application Server Service Setup.
  2. Select the path to the Sage 100 folder.
  3. Click OK to add the service.

 NOTE: The system adds the service using the settings from the Server tab in Application Server Configuration.  

Refresh Application Server Configuration files when they're corrupted

  1. Stop the Application Server and close the Application Server Configuration application.
  2. On Server go to the Task Manager and kill all PVXWIN32.exe's.
  3. On the Sage 100 server, rename the following files:
    • ..\MAS90\MAS_System\SY_Console.m4t
    • ..\MAS90\MAS_System\SY_Workstation.m4t
    • ..\MAS90\Home\Lib\_Appserv\Locate.pvk
    • ..\MAS90\Home\Lib\_Appserv\Sessions.pvk
  4. Go to All Programs and find the Application Server Configuration and Open it. Close it after it creates the files.
  5. Restart the Application for Sage 100 ERP Advanced or Premium.
  6. From the Windows Desktop at the Sage 100 ERP server, click Start.
  7. On the Programs menu, go to the Sage Software or Sage program folder.
  8. Select click Application Server Configuration.
  9. Click the Server Clear the KeepAlives check box.
  10. Click the Clients On the Re-Connect list, select None.

 NOTE: Restarting the Application creates new Locate.pvk and Sessions.pvk files. If using the Service, start the Application first, then follow the login steps. 

If the problem continues change the port number

  1. At the Sage 100 ERP server, in the Windows search type Services.
  2. Open the Services application from the list.
  3. Set the service to Manually Start.
  4. Close Services.
  5. From the Windows Desktop on the Sage 100 server, click Start.
  6. On the Programs menu, go to Sage Software or Sage program folder.
  7. Click Application Server Configuration.
  8. Click the Server tab. In the Sockets field, change the socket number to any unused number between 9,000 and 10,000.
    • If using a firewall, make sure the port isn’t blocked
  9. Click the Start button.
  10. If the service runs on the new port, remove the old one. Then create a new service with it.
    • Remove the original service using Uninstall Application Server Service
    • Create a new service using Application Server Service Setup

The message occurs for specific users

  1. Have all users exit Sage 100.
  2. Log on to Sage 100 as Administrator.
  3. From Administrative Tools, select User Maintenance.
  4. Select the first user, and click the Preferences tab.
  5. Select the Spawn Tasks from Application Server check box, and click Accept.
  6. Proceed for remaining users.
  7. Click Done.

If Sage 100 Advanced or Premium is running as a Service, run as an Application

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Select Administrative Tools, Services.
  3. Stop the Sage 100 service.
  4. At the Sage 100 server
  5. On the Programs menu, go to the Sage Software or Sage program folder.
  6. Select click Application Server Configuration.
  7. Click Start.

The CmdAsUser in the Application Server Configuration

  1. At the Sage 100 server, click the Windows Start menu.
  2. Go to Sage 100 program group.
  3. Click the Application Server Configuration program.
  4. Click the Server tab.
  5. Uncheck the CmdAsUser check box.
  6. Select Apply to save the settings.
  7. Exit the program.
