Post in General Ledger and Cash Management (Tasks, Post Entries).
Run the Cash Detail to GL report:
- From the Cash Management Reports menu, select Reconciliation, Cash Detail to GL.
- Enter the From Date and To Date of the period you are reconciling.
- If you have multiple bank accounts, condition the report for the bank you need to reconcile.
- Click Conditions, Add, AND.
- From the Field list, select Bank Account.
- From the Operator list, select Equal to.
- In the Value field, enter the Bank account ID.
- Click OK twice.
- Print the report.
Run the General Ledger Totals by Batch report:
- From the General Ledger Reports menu, select Entries, Totals By Batch.
- Click Conditions and enter the following conditions:
- Accounting Date greater than or equal to the from date used on Cash Detail to GL Report .
- AND Accounting Date less than or equal to the to date used on Cash Detail to GL Report .
- AND Account equal to your GL Cash Account number.
Note: If you use Both for your Accounting Method in Company settings, you will need to add a condition for: AND Accrual or Cash equal to CASH (or use Accrual if your ledger is off in Accrual reports).
- Print the report.
- Compare the batch totals from each report.
- From the General Ledger Reports menu, select Reports, Entries, Entries by Batch and use ranges and conditions to compare the detail of any batches that show a discrepancy.
If discrepancies are found, review the batch details on the Cash Detail to GL report and compare them to the GL Entries by Batch report for the same batch. Record correcting entries in General Ledger or Cash Management to balance.
