| How do I determine what the permissions are for a registry key? |

- Use Windows Registry Editor to find the appropriate registry key.
- Right-click the registry key.
- Select Permissions.
- Click Advanced.
- Click the Effective Permissions tab.
- Click Select.
- Type YourDomainName\UserName. For example, Timberline\UserName.
- Click Check Names, and then click OK.
- The effective permissions for the specified registry key are displayed. Click OK twice and close the Registry Editor window when you are finished.
