  1. Use Windows Explorer to locate the appropriate file or folder.
  2. Right-click the file or folder.
  3. Select Properties.
  4. Click the Security tab.
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Click the Effective Permissions tab.
  7. Click Select.
  8. Type YourDomainName\UserName. For example, Timberline\UserName.
  9. Click Check Names, and then click OK.
  10. The effective permissions for the specified registry key are displayed. Click OK twice and close the Explorer window when you are finished.
