Register Update programs changed to prevent issue released
- (4.40PU7 + IM4019-t) and higher
- (4.50PU1 + IM4020-t) and higher
Steps to Duplicate:
In XYZ company:
- Loss of Connectivity during an update of registers with inventory items
-
- Turn off computer (Ungraceful shutdown)
- Hardware failure
- Environmental issues
Expected Behavior:
- Register updates should not leave records in IM_DataEntryCostCalcCommit, values in CalcCommitQty and CostCalcCommitCost fields of records in the IM_ItemWarehouse, CI_Item tables regardless of disconnect or ungraceful shutdown.
- Costs on all valuation item types should be correct.
Solutions and Workaround:
To prevent this issue from happening:
- Upgrade to version 4.40.0.8 or 4.50.2
- Upgrade to version 4.40.0.7 plus IM4019-t or 4.50.1 plus IM4020-t
- Versions 4.40.0.6/4.50.0 and prior must run utilities before every register update to clear fields with stranded records. (see below)
To correct data from these issues:
Tiered Valuation Methods (Lot/Serial/Fifo/Lifo) (See How to Correct Out-of Balance Inventory Items for Lot/Serial, FIFO/LIFO valued items)
- Make sure to read help for tasks prior to using Inventory Balance Quantity and Cost Utility
- Released 4.40(PU8) + IM4021-t(Date issue fix on utility)
- Released 4.50(PU2) + IM4022-t(Date issue fix on utility)
- Prior Versions - Request utility from Sage Support
Average Valuation Methods (See How to Correct Out-of Balance Inventory Items for Average Cost items)
- Request utility from Sage Support
- All versions require Pre-Release Document as of 1/13/2012
******After cost calc utilities have been run once to clear old stranded records on the following versions new stranded records should not be left the files/fields. Upgrade to these versions to prevent continuous running of these utilities manually before updates.
