How to update a Payroll Calculation Rate and Maximum

Cause
Resolution
  1. Open 5-3-1 Payroll Calculations.
  2. Locate the payroll calculation.
  3. Type the new rate in the Default Rate box.
  4. Type the new maximum amount in the Default Max box.
  5. Click File, Save.
  6. Click File, Recall.
  7. Click Options, Update Employees.
  8. Choose Update Default Rate and Maximum or Update Maximum Only Employees with this Calculation.
 TIP: Don't use 5-3-1 to update all employees if rates and maximums vary by employee (for example, 401K).
