Do not share the actual data folder itself. From Sage Desktop: - Open Sage Desktop.
- Log into Sage if required.
- Click the Specify Folders button.
- Either type in or copy the path to the data folder (using a UNC path) and skip to step 7 or click the Browse button to manually locate the data folder.
Note: Example UNC path, \\SageServer\Timberline Office\Data\Company 123 - Locate "Network" and click to expand it.
- Locate the computer, share and data folder from the network.
- Click to highlight your data folder and then click OK through the prompts until the company folder shows up in the list.
From TS Main: - Launch TS Main as an administrator in the application. If you do not have security turned on (i.e. it does not prompt a login/password when you launch the software), you are automatically an administrator.
- Click the Specify Folders button.
- Either type in or copy the path to the data folder (using a UNC path) and skip to step 7 or click the Browse button to manually locate the data folder.
- Locate "Network" and click to expand it.
- Locate the computer, share and data folder from the network.
- Click to highlight your data folder and then click OK through the next prompts until the company folder shows up in the list.
Note: In version 9.4 and prior, there may be an option to search for data folders. This option is not recommended due to it taking a long time. This option is also no longer available in newer versions. The wording of certain windows or fields may also be different.
