| How do I set up a pay rate table? |
Resolution | - From the Payroll Setup menu, select Other Tables, Pay Rate Tables.
- Enter a Rate table ID and Description for this pay rate table.
Note: If the rate table is for certified payroll and you use a table name other than CERTIFIED, you must customize formulas and reports to accurately reflect your rate table. Select the link below for additional details on setting up certified payroll. - Enter the Pay ID that applies this rate table (only regular pays and overtime pays that are not used for weighted average overtime can be entered).
- Select the Table Columns you want used to determine the rate of pay during Enter Time and Enter Checks.
- Click Table.
- Enter a line of detail and click Accept line for each rate of pay.
- Click Accept table, then Save, then Close.
Tips: - You can create a pay rate table that includes only employee IDs to quickly make changes to pay rates for large payrolls. For example, a 5 raise given to all employees is quickly entered using a rate table, and at a later time, you can edit the Employee Setup - Pays window to include the new rates of pay.
- If you are setting up a certified pay rate table and you are using certified cash fringes, the PR Rate Table Base Rate and PR Rate Table Fringe Rate formulas assume that you have named your certified pay rate table "CERTIFIED" and that it includes only the Job, Certified class, and Certified? columns. If your certified pay rate table is not named "CERTIFIED," or if it includes columns other than Job, Certified class, and Certified?, you must copy and change the PR Rate Table Base Rate and PR Rate Table Fringe Rate formulas. These formulas must reference the different pay rate table name and/or the columns included on your certified table. If you change these two formulas, you will also need to copy and change the PR Cash Fringe Rate formula to reference the altered public formula names.
Note: Payroll will pay the highest rate it can retrieve. It will look at the rate on employee pay record and compare it to rates found on pay rate tables. DocLink: How do I set up a certified payroll?
