Box 12 and/or Box 14 are incorrect on my W-2 form
Description
Cause

The ID or formula set up in Box 12 or 14 on the W-2 form is wrong.

Resolution

Set up box 12 or 14 on the W-2 form

Set up a Formula, Pay ID, DeductionID, or Fringe ID in box 12 or 14. The box description displays in the lower-left corner of the Modify W-2 Forms window.

Note: Federal and state taxes are added to the W-2 form automatically. If a tax is missing from your W-2, confirm that you are on the latest version of Sage 300 CRE and see the links below.

  1. In Payroll select Tools, Modify Forms, W-2 Forms.
  2. Click List, select the W-2 form, click OK, and then press the TAB key.
  3. Click the Amounts tab and select the box that’s reporting incorrectly.
  4. Correct the contents of the box.
    • If the Pay, Deduction, or Fringe ID is incorrect:
      1. Select the corresponding button.
      2. Double-click the correct ID.
    • If the box contains a formula, then the formula is incorrect. Example: The formula references year-to-date (YTD) fields and needs to reference prior year fields.
      1. From the Tools menu, select Formulas.
      2. Select the formula set up on the W-2 form.
      3. Click Change, and make the necessary corrections.
      4. Click OK and Close.
  5. Click Save and Close.
