Quick formulas are easily set up, have no name, and are used only once in the report design at the location where you create them. They cannot be used within other design formulas. If you select an existing quick formula on the report design and then select Tools, Quick Formula, you can view the selected formula and make changes to replace it with a new quick formula. Design formulas are only created for report designs while you use Report Designer and are only accessible when that report design is open. However, you may use design formulas as often as necessary for other items in the same report or within other design formulas. You can view a design formula format on screen while you modify the design. A design formula also allows you to edit the formula once you create and save it. This is especially helpful to other operators who assist with the customization and troubleshooting of a report while it is still in the design process. If necessary, you can copy a design formula to a public formula for use on other designs.
