The difference between Office Connector and Office Connector Starter

 

  • Office Connector Starter is an (evaluation) version of Office Connector. Newer versions of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate include Office Connector Starter. This version doesn’t allow you to modify or build custom reports. Office Connector Starter limits access to reports to:
    • Account Ledger with Detail
    • Cost To Complete
    • Job List with Maps and Weather
    • Lease Expiration List
    • Sage 300 CRE Dashboard
    • Search Sage 300 CRE
  • Office Connector or Office Connector Essentials is the full version of Office Connector that allows you to modify and build custom reports.

How to tell which version of Office Connector you are using

Since both products can start from Sage Desktop, a shortcut on your personal desktop, or from Excel, it is difficult to tell which product you are using by opening Office Connector.

To see if you are using the Starter (evaluation) version of Office Connector or the full version of Office Connector, verify in Excel:

  1. Open Excel and switch to the "Add-ins" tab at the top of the window.
  2. On the left side you will see "Office Connector" with a dropdown menu. Open the dropdown.
  3. Click Help, Environment, View System Information.
  4. If under License Type, it states Evaluation, you are using the Office Connector Starter version.
