Restart the Pervasive/Actian/Zen services

Verify that all users of that system have exited Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate and Sage Estimating applications before restarting the services.

NOTE:

Different versions of Pervasive/Actian/Zen can have slightly different service names.

 

Sage 300 CRE Versions 24.1 and earlier

Workstations

  1. Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Run.
  2. Type services.msc in the field and click OK.
  3. Locate the Pervasive/Actian services in the list.
  4. Right-click the services and select Stop.
  5. Confirm the services stopped.
  6. Verify the Startup Type on the service is Automatic.
  7. Right-click on the services and choose Start.

Servers

You can also use these steps for Sage Estimating (Pervasive).

  1. Important to prevent damage to your data:
    • Sage 300 CRE or Estimating file servers: Verify all users have exited Sage 300 CRE on all systems before restarting the database engine.
    • Citrix or Terminal servers: Verify that all users have exited the terminal server before restarting the database engine.
  2. Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Run.
  3. Type services.msc in the field and click OK.
  4. Scroll down the list and find any of the following services:
    • Pervasive/Actian PSQL Relational Engine
    • Pervasive/Actian PSQL Transactional Engine
    • Pervasive/Actian PSQL (workgroup) Engine
  5. Right-click on the service and select Stop. If you can't stop the service, disable and re-enable the service.
    1. Right-click the service and choose Properties.
    2. Set service to Disabled.
    3. Reboot the server.
    4. Right-click the service and choose Properties.
    5. Set service to Automatic.
  6. Right-click on the service again and select Start.

     

Sage 300 CRE Versions 24.2 and later

Workstations

Workstations install as an application and services will typically not be present.

Servers

  1. Important to prevent damage to your data:
    • Sage 300 CRE or Estimating file servers: Verify all users have exited Sage 300 CRE on all systems before restarting the database engine.
    • Citrix or Terminal servers: Verify that all users have exited the terminal server before restarting the database engine.
  2. Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Run.

  4. Scroll down the list and find Actian Zen Enterprise Server.
  5. Right-click on the service and select Stop. If you can't stop the service, disable and re-enable the service.
    1. Right-click the service and choose Properties.
    2. Set service to Disabled.
    3. Reboot the server.
    4. Right-click the service and choose Properties.
    5. Set service to Automatic.
  6. Right-click on the service again and select Start.
