| How to change the posting date on a cash receipt deposit |
Description | The deposit date is the posting date. You will not be prompted for a posting date when printing the Cash Receipts Journal. |
Resolution | Process a negative cash receipt using the original (incorrect) date, then recreate the cash receipt with the correct date. - Enter the original/incorrect posting date from the first cash receipt using Accounts Receivable, Main, Cash Receipts Entry.
- Use the next available deposit number.
- Select the same bank code and deposit date from the original transaction.
- Enter the original deposit amount as negative.
- Click OK Select the original customer number and enter a check number.
- Enter the original amount into the Amount Received field as a negative on the Lines tab.
- Select the invoice(s) and enter the original amount as a negative.
- Print the Cash Receipts Journal and update.
- Open Accounts Receivable, Main, Cash Receipts Entry, enter the correct posting date and re-enter the cash receipts using the correct date.
