How do I change the General Ledger account on a Cash Management transaction?
Description
Cause
Resolution

If the transaction was created in another application, correct the entry in the original application. To change the account for adjustment, withdrawal, and deposit transactions created in Edit Register, follow these steps:

Note: If the transaction is for a closed accounting period and you do not want to re-open the period, record separate adjusting entries in CM instead of the below steps. When you change the existing entry, it will send correcting entries to GL using the original accounting date.

  1. In Cash Management, from the Tasks menu, select Edit Register.
  2. Select the bank account and click OK.
  3. Find the transaction and click ...> for the details.
  4. To change the account, the Reconciled Status must be O (Open). If the status is R (Reconciled) or C (Cleared), follow the steps in article 22176, DocLink: How do I change the reconciliation status of a transaction in Cash Management? to change the status to O. Be sure to make note of the Cleared date.
  5. Correct the GL Credit or GL Debit accounts.
Note: If the entry was a deposit or withdrawal and the Split option was used, click Split, delete the rows and re-enter.
  6. If the Reconciled Status was changed in step 4 above, reset the Reconciled Status to its original status and Cleared date.
  7. Click OK and Finish.
