How do I set up my local income tax formula for additional withholding?

Note: This applies to the local tax formulas found in the Help file within Sage 50 Accounting or in the article DocLink: How to set up a local tax.

  1. Go to File, Payroll Formulas, User-Maintained
  2. Click the Formula ID: drop down list, and select the local formula.
  3. Left-click in the Formula: box.
  4. Place the cursor at the end of the last line.
  5. Type - EMP_LOCAL_NUMBER
  6. Click Save and then Close.
  7. Open the Payroll Entry window and select an appropriate employee.
  8. Confirm that the amount in the Addl Withholding field in the employee's Withholding Info is added to the local tax deduction.
