Backup existing data:
- Have all users log out of all Sage applications.
- Back up your data before processing with the steps below. See How do I use the System Administrator to back up and restore data?
Note: The following steps can also be used for restoring moved commitments. Substitute "Commitments" for "Jobs" in the steps below.
Open the archive folder where the closed job or jobs are stored:
- From the Job Cost File menu or the Sage Desktop Options menu, select Open Company.
- If the archive company for closed jobs is listed, select the company and click OK, then skip to the next section "Move the applicable jobs back to the live folder." If the archive company is not listed, click Specify Folders.
- Click Browse and browse to the folder that contains the archived jobs.
- Click Open, then OK, then select the archive jobs company and click OK.
Move the applicable jobs back to the live folder:
- From the Job Cost Tools menu, select Move, Jobs.
- In the Move Jobs - Destination File Selection window, browse to the live data folder and select the Master.jcm file and click Open.
- Use Ranges and Conditions to select the jobs to move back.
Confirm the job or jobs moved successfully:
- From the Job Cost File menu or the Sage Desktop Options menu, select Open Company.
- Select the live company and click OK.
- From the Job Cost Inquiry menu, select Lists, Job List and confirm the job is listed.
Note: If transactions were also archived, use the same steps to move transactions current to current or history to history. Jobs with transactions dated in the current year should remain in the current file. Jobs should only be moved if no entries for the current year will be made. The job should be closed in both AP and AR prior to moving. See Archiving job Article linked below.
