Running Sage BusinessWorks in a cloud environment
Description

Before you begin

  • You can install Sage BusinessWorks on a cloud-based server
  • Users accessing the server via Remote Desktop must use the Client Server Edition
  • For virtual servers with local client installs, the Workgroup Edition supports up to four users. For five or more users, use the Client Server Edition
  • Contact support for a list of approved cloud hosting partners
  • The cloud host must set up and maintain the server connection. Sage doesn’t troubleshoot cloud connectivity issues

Type of installations supported in cloud environments

Virtual server (server is virtual and clients are local)

  • Workgroup
  • Client Server (Server operating system required for server install)

Cloud hosted server

The server is based on the cloud and clients are local and aren’t using Remote Desktop (RDP) to connect to the server. 

  • Workgroup
  • Client Server (Server operating system required for server install)

Cloud hosted server or Virtual server and users are remote in to the server

The server is cloud-based and users use Remote Desktop (RDP) to work off the server. 

  • Client Server only (this is the same requirement as if using RDP/Terminal Services)

Once you set up the cloud server, move the current Sage BusinessWorks installation to the cloud server.
