You can create a time entry view to use when you enter earnings information. The time entry view you select determines the appearance of the window where you enter earnings information. You can click List to select a time entry view in the following tasks:
- Enter Time
- Enter Checks
- Change Unposted Time
- Change Posted Time
- Void Checks
Note:
- If the time entry view is for daily time entry, you must select the Date column before you select the Employee column.
- For correct automatic rate retrieval, select the Employee column before the Job column. Select the Pay ID and Rate columns last.
To create a time entry view:
- Go to Payroll, Tools, Customize Time Entry.
- Type an ID in the View box.
- Type a name in the Description box.
- Click List to browse and select a Time Journal design.
Note: Leave this item blank to use the default design (File, Company Settings, PR Settings, Journal Options).
- In the Time entry columns box, double-click on the time entry column to include it in the earnings entry grid.
Note: The following columns are required:
- Employee
- Pay ID
- Units or Amount
- Click Save, and then click Close.
