To configure direct deposit email settings - Open 5-2-4 Payroll Checks
- Select a check report that is for Direct Deposit, 22, 31, or 37
- Click Options, Direct Deposit Email Settings
- Type in email address from which the direct deposit emails will be sent (i.e., your email address)
- Click the Email Settings button
- Choose the method by which you want the emails sent and enter in the account information required for that method. The recommended method is Microsoft Outlook, if you have it installed and are using it for your business email.
- Click Save
- Click Close
To set up an employee to receive direct deposit emails - Go to 5-2-1 Employees and pull up the employee's record
- Go to their Direct Deposit tab
- Ensure that the Enable direct deposit box is checked and direct deposit information entered in
- Enter their email address in the Direct Deposit Email box
- Save the record
- Repeat for all employees using direct deposit that you wish to email
Important: This process will send the employee their direct deposit stub in a secured PDF file. This means when they attempt to open it, they will be prompted to enter a password. For US employees, the password is the last 4 digits of their social security number. For Canadian employees, it is the last 3 numbers of their social insurance number.
