Perform a Sage BusinessWorks profile install
Description
  • Set up Sage BusinessWorks for multiple users on one computer
  • Set up Sage BusinessWorks in a remote (Terminal Server) environment
  • Install Sage BusinessWorks as a user that doesn't have local administrator rights
  • Install the program for a new user on the computer that doesn't have a Sage BusinessWorks icon
  • Run the client as administrator and no icon appears
Cause
Resolution

Standalone installation

  1. Log into Windows as an administrator and run the full standalone installation.
  2. Make sure you point the path to the correct folder during the installation.
  3. Log into Windows as the user who will use Sage BusinessWorks.
  4. Open Windows Explorer and go to the Sage BusinessWorks program folder on the server.
  5. Double-click BWProfile.exe to start the setup.
  6. Follow the installation wizard.
  7. If prompted, enter the Network Administrator login credentials.
  8. Confirm that Sage BusinessWorks launches and runs correctly.

Network Client installation or Remote User

  • Log into Windows as administrator and run the client setup
  • For each additional user on the computer, run BWProfile.exe
    1. Log into Windows as the user who will use Sage BusinessWorks.
    2. Open Windows Explorer and go to the Sage BusinessWorks program folder on the server.
    3. Double-click BWProfile.exe to start the setup.
    4. Follow the installation wizard.
    5. If prompted, enter the Network Administrator login credentials.
    6. Confirm that Sage BusinessWorks launches and runs correctly.
    7. Repeat steps 2–6 for each additional user on that computer.
