| Resolution | Step 1: Set up security groups - Open the company with Administrator rights.
- Open 7-2-1 Security Groups.
- For each security group, complete the following:
- In the Group# cell, type a group number
- In the Group Name cell, type group name
- In the Save cell, if you want to allow the group to save records, type Yes
- In the Delete cell, type Yes to allow the group to delete records
- In the Void cell, type Yes to allow the group to void records
- In the Change Period cell, type Yes to allow the group to change the posting period
- In the Print Checks cell, type Yes to allow the group to print checks
- Click File and Save.
Step 2: Set up users and passwords - Open 7-2-2 User List.
- For each user:
- In the User Name cell, enter the user’s name.
- In the Password cell, enter a password.
- In the Group 1 cell, click once in the cell, and select a security group.
- Assign the user to other security groups in Groups 2 through 5 (Optional).
Step 3: Set up window-level and menu-level security - Log on to the company as Administrator.
- Select the menu command, and then press F7.
- Select the groups to which you want to provide access.
- Click Save.
Step 4: Print the Menu 13-7-22 Database Security/User Def report - Open 13-7-22 Database Security/User Def.
- Select report number 22-Database Security/User Def.
- Select File and Print.
