• Unbalanced NACHA file -  -Contains only debit or credit entries. The originating bank adds the offset outside the file to settle the transaction
• Balanced NACHA file - Includes both debit and credit entries that net to zero. It contains an offsetting entry (usually from the originating bank) to balance the total amounts

 To create an unbalanced file

1. Payroll, Transfer, Create Direct Deposit File.
2. Select the check box at the bottom of the screen for Create unbalanced file.
   • An unbalanced file doesn't create records 627 or 628
