How can I post future transactions in Contracts?
Description
Cause
Resolution

Transactions that are entered to a future date cannot be reversed in the Contracts application. To correct these future date transactions, you must create adjusting transactions in Accounts Receivable by entering a reversal to the future date, reentering the transaction to the correct date, and then posting the transactions to Contracts. The in and out future date transactions will reject, while the correct date transaction posts through. Refer to the attachments below for information on correcting future date transactions in Accounts Receivable.

NOTE: Do not perform these steps until you have corrected the future date and Accounts Receivable shows an in/out for the future date.

To post the in/out future date transactions in Contracts, do the following:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options, select Audit setup activity, and then click OK.
  2. From the File menu, select Company Settings, and then click CN Settings. Make note of the existing Year end date and Current month, then change the month and year to that of the future date transaction. Click OK.
Note: To change the year you must be signed in to Sage as an Application Administrator if you use security.
  3. From the Tasks menu, select Post. Review the posting journal to confirm that the transactions posted.
  4. From the File menu, select Company Settings, and then click CN Settings. Change the month and year back to those noted in Step 2, and then click OK.
  5. From the Tools menu, select Options, clear Audit setup activity and then click OK.
