1. Close Sage 50—U.S. Edition
2. Open Computer
3. For 2018 and below, browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Peach or C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Peach
4. For 2019 and above, browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\Peachtree
5. Double-click Peachtree[Version].ini
6. Find the line beginning DATAPATH= and insert a semi-colon (;) at the beginning of the line
7. Place the cursor at the end of the ;DATAPATH= line and press ENTER to add a line
8. Copy the line beginning LOCALDATAPATH=
9. Paste the line into the newly added line
10. Remove the word LOCAL so the line begins DATAPATH=
11. Select File, and then select Save
12. Minimize Notepad
13. Open Sage
14. Activate Sage the prompt should appear automatically, but if not, click Help, Sage 50 Activation, Licensing, and Subscription Options
15. Close Sage
16. Bring Peachtree[Version].ini back up
17. Remove the newly added DATAPATH= line
18. Remove the semi-colon from the beginning of the original DATAPATH= line
19. Select File, and then select Save
20. Close Notepad
