Move prerequisite files to a shorter path

CAUTION:

This solution requires advanced Windows operating system knowledge. Consult your system administrator for assistance. Sage isn't responsible for issues caused by incorrect Windows Registry changes. Back up your data before applying this solution.

On the Sage 100 ERP server, locate the Prerequisites folder on the installation media.
Copy the MsSQLServerCE and SQLNativeClient folders to a shorter local path.
Don't place these folders in the\MA90 folder.
Use a path such as C:\Apps.

Example

Copy:

C:\Downloads\Sage 100 ERP 2014\Sage 100 ERP 2014 Applications\Prerequisites\MsSqlServerCE

to:

C:\Apps\MsSQLServerCE

Install the required prerequisites manually

Open the new folder location.
Install the required components as an administrator:

Install Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 ENU

Right-click SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi.
Select Run as Administrator.

Install Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0

Right-click SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.exe and select Run as Administrator.
If required, right-click SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.exe and select Run as Administrator.

Continue the Sage 100 ERP installation

After you install the SQL Server Compact prerequisite, the SQL Native Client installs automatically when the Sage 100 ERP installation continues.
