| Cause |
- The path to extract the files for the Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 ENU (or Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0) or the Microsoft SQL Native Client prerequisite may be too long.
- Additionally, the server may need Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 ENU installed prior to installing Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0.

- On the Sage 100 ERP destination server, manually copy the MsSQLServerCE and SQLNativeClient folders (and contents) from the Prerequisites folder of the Sage 100 ERP install disk image to a shorter path on the destination server (not within the \MA90 folder) such as C:\Apps
- For example: C:\apps\MsSQLServerCE instead of C:\Downloads\Sage 100 ERP 2014\Sage 100 ERP 2014 Applications\Prerequisites\MsSqlServerCE
- Manually install the missing prerequisites from the new folder created:
- To install Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 ENU (prior to 4.0 install) right-click the file SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi and select Run As Administrator
- To install Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0 select the file SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.exe and/or SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.exe right-click and select Run as Administrator
- The SQL native client should automatically install when the Sage 100 ERP installation continues if the prerequisite above is manually installed
